Greystonedale Mansion is in Haltwhistle. It sleeps twelve people. That's five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
It was built in 1880 and we did it up mostly with old, reclaimed stuff. You'll see a lot of original features and antiques. It was on Channel 4's Renovation Nation. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and has everything, but it's not a hotel. It feels like a big, old family house.
The main kitchen has a wooden floor and a decorative fireplace. There's also a bar area with a disco ball. The main living room has a proper open fire and two big Chesterfield sofas. There's a snug off that room with panelled walls and doors out to the garden.
There's an annexe attached to the house with a second sitting room, another open fire, a separate dining room, and a second kitchen. It's useful for a big group.
The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for dogs and kids. There's plenty of seating out there.
Haltwhistle is a small town. There are a few shops, some pubs and cafes, and an outdoor swimming pool. They call it the Centre of Britain. Hadrian's Wall is right on your doorstep for walking. The Northumberland National Park is there too. Thirlwall Castle and the Vindolanda Roman Fort are close by.
Within about half an hour you can get to Hexham, which has the abbey and a market. Corbridge is a nice little town for a wander. The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre is good if you want to learn about the area. Carlisle is about a 25-minute drive the other way, with the castle and more shops.
Facilities: There's parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. Washing machine, dishwasher, TVs, WiFi. We can provide a cot and highchair. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to three dogs. There's a BBQ.
