Felbrook Cottage is near Henshaw in Northumberland. It's detached, so no neighbours on the other side of the walls. There's an enclosed garden around the back, which is handy if you've got a dog or if kids are running about.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, both with a shower over the bath. One of the bedrooms is a double with a mezzanine bit above it. That's got two single beds on it. You get up there by a ladder. It's fine, but it's a ladder, so you need to be okay with that.
The stairs inside are mentioned as being steep or narrow. I'd just say mind your head on the way up.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well set up. There's a woodburning stove in the living room, which is good for cooler evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
You're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The walking from the door is excellent. Hadrian's Wall is very close. Housesteads Roman Fort is a classic visit and isn't far at all.
Hexham is about a 15-minute drive. It's a proper market town with shops, pubs, and a big abbey. Corbridge is also close, another nice village with good places to eat.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking on site. For a bigger group, there's another cottage nearby that can be booked together.
