It's Ptarmigan Glamping Pod in Aviemore. It's not a cottage, it's a pod, which is a fancy sort of wooden shed. You'll be in the Oakwood Caravan and Camping Park.
It sleeps four, but it's one room. All four beds are in there, in bunk bed style. There's a shower room attached. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and sorted, but it's compact. If you like your own space, it might be cosy.
There's a small cooker, a collapsable table inside and some outdoor furniture. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. You can bring one dog.
It's in the middle of the Cairngorms National Park. The main reason you're here is to be outside. You can walk out the gate and onto trails. For the mountain itself, Cairngorm Mountain is about ten minutes in the car. You can get the funicular railway up if you don't fancy the walk. In summer, they run activities up there. In winter, it's for skiing.
Aviemore village is a couple of minutes drive for shops and places to eat. The Highland Folk Museum at Newtonmore is about twenty minutes away, it's good for a wet day. The Rothiemurchus Estate is on the edge of Aviemore, you can do fishing or guided walks there. Landmark Forest Adventure Park is also nearby, that's the big one with the slides and mazes for kids.
