Gael Cham
This place is called Gael Cham. It's a Scandinavian-style log cabin just outside Aviemore. It's in a quiet spot so you don't get any noise, but it's only about a ten minute walk into the centre.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms, and has two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well kept and comfortable. Everything's included: bedding, towels, WiFi. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park right outside.
It's a detached cabin, so no neighbours through the walls. The living area is open plan. You get a highchair and a cot if you need them. We take up to two well-behaved dogs.
Aviemore itself has shops, cafés, and restaurants. There's a swimming pool and a cinema. In winter, it's a good base for the ski slopes at Cairngorm. The rest of the year, you're right in the Cairngorms National Park for walking, cycling, that sort of thing. There's local fishing and horse riding too, and a golf course nearby.
If you're planning days out, these sites are useful: Cairngorms National Park and National Trust for Scotland Cairngorms. You can drive to Loch Morlich in under ten minutes. Kingussie is about a twenty minute drive, and the Highland Wildlife Park is roughly half an hour away.
