Lochnagar Lodge is on the edge of Aviemore. It's a detached house with its own garden. The view from the front over the Cairngorms is the main thing. You can sit in the hot tub and look at the mountains.
It sleeps nine. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms, so there's enough space for a few families or a big group. There are two living rooms, which helps if people want to do different things. One has a wood-burning stove. It's a 5 Star property, so everything is in good order and well-equipped.
The centre of Aviemore is a five minute walk. You've got shops, cafes, and plenty of places to eat there. The house is very quiet though, being where it is.
You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. For walking, you can drive up to the Cairngorm Mountain car park in about twenty minutes and start from there. The Reindeer Centre is up that way too. Loch Morlich is a ten minute drive for the beach and water sports. Loch Insh is about the same, for sailing and that sort of thing.
Further afield, the Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie is about a twenty minute drive. It's good for kids. The Highland Folk Museum is in Newtonmore, which is maybe twenty-five minutes. It's an open-air museum about how people lived here.
Facilities: it has pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, parking for a couple of cars. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
