This is Granite Cottage in Boat of Garten. It's a detached house, about 130 years old. The place sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 2 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect any frills. The garden's got a patio with a barbecue.
The village is quiet. You've got pine woods all around and the Cairngorms in the distance. You'll see red squirrels. There's a shop, a pub, and a cafe a short walk away. The steam railway station is right there too.
If you're here to be outdoors, it's good. You can walk to the River Spey for fishing. There's a golf and tennis club. The RSPB reserve at Loch Garten is close. That's where you go to see the ospreys.
A bit further out, within about 45 minutes drive, you've got a lot of options. Loch Morlich has a beach and watersports. There's the ski resort at Cairngorm Mountain, and another at Lecht. The Landmark Centre is up that way too, good if the weather turns. There's a wildlife park, a reindeer centre, and Loch Insh for sailing.
Inside, it's got what you need: WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog. Parking is on site.
