Woodland Lodge is in Boat of Garten. It's a detached lodge, set back from the road. It sleeps up to twelve people in five bedrooms, with three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The village is quiet. You've got a shop and a couple of pubs about a five minute walk away. They're handy. The golf course is right there, a James Braid design if that matters to you.
Being here is really about the outdoors. You're in the Cairngorms National Park. There are walking and mountain bike trails that start almost from the doorstep. The village is known for the ospreys at RSPB Loch Garten, which is just down the road.
Aviemore is about ten minutes away by car. It's got bigger supermarkets, more places to eat, and things like cinemas and an ice rink. For outdoor stuff, you're close to Loch Morlich for watersports, and Cairngorm Mountain for the funicular railway and skiing in winter. The Highland Wildlife Park and the Landmark Forest Adventure Park are both within about twenty minutes' drive.
The lodge has a woodburning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. There's a BBQ outside. Facilities include WiFi, a washing machine, and parking for several cars on the driveway. Bedding and towels are included. We've also got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones.
