Glenrothay
Glenrothay is a cottage just outside Aviemore, on the Dalfaber estate. It's one of a pair. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs.
It's a 3 Star place. That means it's clean, warm and does the job. It's not fancy. You get a garden out the back which is nice if you get a sunny evening.
The stairs are a standard sort of stair. There's parking right outside the door.
You can walk into Aviemore village. There's a shop and a couple of pubs. The Winking Owl is the closest, about a ten minute walk. They do food.
You're really here for the outdoors. The Cairngorms are right there. You can be on a forest trail in five minutes by car. For a proper mountain day, the Cairngorm Mountain resort is about fifteen minutes up the road. That's where the funicular railway is, and the ski area in winter.
The Rothiemurchus Estate is on your doorstep for walking and cycling. Loch Morlich is a twenty minute drive. It's a big loch with a beach, and you can see the mountains from there.
