Holly Lodge is a bungalow on a quiet cul-de-sac in Aviemore, in the Silverglades area. It's detached, so no neighbours on the other side of a wall. You can park two cars on the drive.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both on the ground floor. That makes it straightforward if you have trouble with stairs. Both have their own bathroom, which is useful. It's rated 4 Star.
You can bring two dogs. The garden is fully enclosed, so it's secure for them, or for kids. There's a barbecue out there.
The main thing in the garden is the hot tub. It's a proper one, seats six, and it's serviced regularly. It's lit for evening use. It's private, just for the house.
Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room. We leave you a pack of wood to get you started. It's from a local family business. For entertainment, there's a TV with some subscription channels, WiFi, and a bunch of board games.
The kitchen has what you'd need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a travel cot and highchair if you're bringing a little one.
Location is the big sell. You can walk into Aviemore centre in about ten minutes. There's a pub and restaurants that way. The Strathspey Steam Railway runs past the end of the street, which is quite nice to watch.
You're right in the Cairngorms. Loch Morlich and Loch Insh are about a fifteen minute drive. Good for watersports or just a walk. The Rothiemurchus estate is on the way there, with lots of outdoor activities. For walking, cycling, or skiing, you're in the middle of it. Aviemore itself has shops, cafes, and a golf course.
If you want to plan trips, the Cairngorms National Park site is useful. For train enthusiasts, the Strathspey Railway website has timetables.
In terms of facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's an electric vehicle charger on the drive. No smoking inside, please.
