Woodford

Woodford is in Boat of Garten. It's a detached house, so you're not sharing walls with anyone. The front garden is enclosed. The back has a lawn and space for a barbecue.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. One bedroom is downstairs with an en-suite shower room. That's useful if someone doesn't want to tackle the stairs. The stairs are fine, they're just normal stairs.

The village is quiet. There are two shops about a hundred yards away, and the hotel opposite does food. One of the better local restaurants is a short walk from the house.

You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. There are forest walks and cycle trails starting practically from the door. The steam train stops at the station here. Aviemore is about a ten minute drive for more shops and places to eat.

If you're bringing bikes, there's a proper storage shed. There's an electric car charger. The heating is all electric.

Things to do nearby: the RSPB reserve at Loch Garten is famous for the ospreys. The Cairngorm Mountain Railway is about a twenty minute drive. The Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie is about half an hour. For ideas, the Cairngorms National Park website is good.

In the house, there's a washing machine and dryer, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking for two cars on the drive. No pets, I'm afraid.
