Bonnie Doon is a cottage in Aviemore. It’s a semi-detached place, modern build. Sleeps two in one bedroom. One bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating so it’s comfortable.
The location is handy. About a ten minute walk into the centre of Aviemore up a pedestrian path. The cottage is in a quiet cul-de-sac.
At the back, there’s the Strathspey Steam Railway line. You can hear it sometimes, chuffing past. It’s not loud, but it’s there. The front looks out towards the mountains. The garden at the back is a decent size, enclosed. There’s a barbecue and a post to lock bikes to.
Inside it’s as you’d expect. Kitchen has what you need, there’s a TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bathroom is a good size. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a travel cot if you need one. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
It’s a straightforward base. Aviemore has shops, places to eat. You’re right in the Cairngorms National Park. For walking, cycling, that sort of thing, you just drive out of the village and you’re there. In winter, it’s about twenty minutes to the ski area.
Other places nearby: Carrbridge, Boat of Garten, Nethy Bridge. The Speyside Way walking route is close by. The steam railway is a nice trip, you can hop on and off.
