Fir Tree Lodge

It's called Fir Tree Lodge, but honestly, everyone just calls it the Pines. It’s a detached lodge, so you're not sharing walls with anyone. It sits right on the holiday park, but it's quiet and looks out over the river.

It’s just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean. It’s not fancy, but everything works.

You’re on the edge of the park here, so it’s peaceful. The centre of Aviemore is a ten-minute walk away. There’s a pub about 200 yards down the road if you don’t want to go into town.

You’re right in the Cairngorms National Park. The Speyside Way is on your doorstep for walking. For skiing or snowboarding, you’re a short drive from the Cairngorm Mountain resort. Loch Morlich is about fifteen minutes by car if you want to go to the beach or try some water sports.

If you’re into wildlife, the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre is up the road. The Highland Wildlife Park in Kingussie is about a twenty-minute drive. For a different day out, the Moray coast with its beaches and fishing villages is under an hour away.

Facilities: it’s got a TV, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included, and there’s parking right outside. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry.
