Rowan Cottage is on the edge of Aviemore. It's detached and sits a bit higher up than the houses around it, so you get a good, clear view of the Cairngorms. You can see the ski runs when there's snow.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. They all have their own en-suite bathrooms. One's a double, one has twin beds, and the master has a bath as well as a shower. All the bedrooms have TVs.
You come in through a small boot room. The living room is big and has a wood burner. Off that is the dining room and then a conservatory. The conservatory gets the sun and is the best spot for the mountain view. The kitchen is a good size and leads to a large utility room. There's a door from there to the garden.
The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you have dogs. We allow up to two. There's also a storage space for gear, with room for several bikes and even a canoe or two.
You can park three cars on the drive.
The local shop, pub, and a restaurant are about a five minute walk away. Aviemore itself is a ten minute walk or a two minute drive.
From here, you're right in the middle of it. There are walking and cycling trails everywhere. You're close to Loch Morlich for water sports, and the River Spey for fishing. In winter, the ski areas are a short drive away. It's a good base for exploring the Cairngorms National Park.
