West End Cottage is in Carrbridge. It's a terraced cottage on the edge of the village, near the river. You've got neighbours, but it's quiet. The garden is yours, it's enclosed and gets the sun in the evening.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It has a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's clean and comfortable. The stairs are cottage stairs, so watch your head.
You're about a minute's walk from the village shop and the pubs. One pub does food. The old packhorse bridge is just down the road, it's a good spot.
The Landmark Forest Adventure Park is a ten minute walk. It's a big day out for kids. For walking, you can start right from the door. There are paths along the river and into the woods.
Aviemore is about ten minutes by car. That's where you'll find the big shops and the train station. It's at the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. You can drive up to the Cairngorm ski area, or go to Loch Morlich. The reindeer herd is up there too.
Further out, you can get to Inverness in under an hour. The coast at Findhorn or Nairn is about the same. The west coast is further, but doable for a long day if you're set on it.
Facilities: there's a wood burner, and I leave some logs to get you started. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. I can provide a cot and high chair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
