Strathspey Lodge is in Duthil, a small hamlet in the Cairngorms National Park. It's a detached wood and stone lodge. The main thing you get here is the view. It looks out over fields towards the Cairngorm mountains.
The lodge sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms, which is useful with a full group. It has a 5 Star rating, which reflects the standard. It's well finished. The furniture is bespoke, made locally. It's comfortable and warm.
The layout is open plan downstairs, which works for families. There's a wood burning stove for the evenings. The WiFi is fine.
You're about two miles from Carrbridge village. They've got a few shops and a pub there. The local country club, a mile up the road, lets visitors use its leisure and dining facilities.
Aviemore is a fifteen minute drive. That's where you'll find most of the shops, restaurants, and the outdoor activity centres. If you're into skiing or snowboarding, Cairngorm Mountain is about twenty minutes away.
For days out, the Cairngorm Mountain Railway is nearby. So is the Strathspey Steam Railway. The Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge is popular, especially if you have kids. The Highland Wildlife Park is about half an hour south.
The area is good for walking and cycling straight from the door. Loch Morlich and Loch Insh are close by for watersports. There are several golf courses around, like Boat of Garten and Grantown.
Facilities: it's got parking, a garden with a BBQ, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. It's pet friendly, up to two dogs.
