Cotterton Beag is our place in Duackbridge, near Nethy Bridge. It's a detached bungalow, so you have it all on one level. It sits by itself quite a bit back from the road, with some trees around. You get the feeling of being away from things, but the village is only half a mile down the lane.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one has a shower. The rating is 4 Star, which I think reflects that it's roomy and comfortable. Everything's included: bedding, towels, things like that.
Inside, it's just a straightforward, spacious house. Good for a group or a family. The woodburning stove in the living room is nice to have on in the evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a cot and a highchair in the cupboard if you need them.
Outside, there's a garden and patio area. Parking for a couple of cars right outside.
You can bring pets, up to two.
As for the area, it's a quiet spot. There's a shop and a pub in Nethy Bridge, about half a mile. Decent for a pint. You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. The river walks start almost from the door. For a longer day, you can drive up to Loch Morlich for the beach and water sports, or on to the Cairngorm ski centre. The funicular railway up there is worth a trip for the views.
Grantown-on-Spey is a short drive away for more shops and places to eat. If you're into birdwatching, the RSPB reserves at Abernethy and Loch Garten are very close.
