Sunnyside House is in Duthil, which is a couple of miles outside Carrbridge. It's detached and sits by itself, so it's quiet. The views from the front are good, straight over fields to the Cairngorms.
It sleeps eight, but there are only three bedrooms. They've made it work by having some big bunk beds and a sofa bed, so it's best for families or groups who don't mind sharing. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out. There are two bathrooms, one is ensuite. There's a wood burning stove. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you've got dogs - you can bring up to two. They provide dog beds and bowls.
You've got a hot tub out the back. Robes are provided for that. There's a games room in a separate hut with a pool table and table tennis. Parking is on site for a couple of cars.
Carrbridge village centre is about a mile away. There's a pub and restaurant within half a mile you can walk to. Aviemore is about eleven miles, so twenty minutes by car. That's where you'll find bigger shops, more places to eat, and the golf course.
The area is all about being outside. You're in the Cairngorms National Park. In winter, there's skiing at Cairn Gorm. In summer, it's walking, cycling, or water sports on Loch Morlich. The Landmark Forest Adventure Park is just down the road near Carrbridge, which is good if you've got kids. The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre is worth a visit. For a different day out, the Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie is about half an hour's drive.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them, and all the bedding and towels are included. The WiFi works.
If you want to go further, the Moray coast with its beaches is about an hour north. Inverness is just under an hour's drive.
