Rowan Cottage
Rowan Cottage is in Carrbridge. It's detached, so you get your own space. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing a dog.
It sleeps eight, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms and one has a wet room on the ground floor, which is good if stairs are difficult for anyone. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The stairs are normal.
The village is quiet but it's got what you need. There's a shop and a couple of places to eat about five minutes' walk. The pub is decent.
You're right in the Cairngorms here. Good walking straight from the door. Aviemore is about fifteen minutes by car for more shops or the cinema. The Cairngorms National Park site has ideas for things to do. For a proper day out, Culloden and Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness are both within an hour's drive.
It's got a wood burner for winter evenings, a barbecue for the garden, and a dishwasher. Bikes can be stored if you bring them. There's parking on site. You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included.
