Rowan Cottage is a detached house on the edge of Carrbridge, over by the old packhorse bridge. You'll see that from the lounge window. It's in a quiet bit, but you can walk to the village shop or the pub in about five minutes. It's a proper Highland village, small but friendly. You've got fields and trees right behind you.
It sleeps eight. There are three bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms, one shower room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and warm. There's a wood burner and we leave some logs for you.
The stairs are standard, not too steep. The garden is enclosed. The decking gets the sun in the afternoon if you're lucky. There's a barbecue out there.
You're in Cairngorms National Park here. It's good walking country straight from the door. The local pub does food, and the shop has your basics. For a bigger shop, Aviemore is about ten minutes down the road.
Within half an hour you've got Aviemore for the shops and the leisure pool. The Cairngorm Mountain funicular is up that way too. Boat of Garten and the Strathspey Railway are nearby. For a long day out, Inverness is about 40 minutes north.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for two cars on the drive. We accept one well-behaved dog.
