Bracken Yurt
Bracken Yurt is here in Melplash. It's a fully insulated yurt, so it's proper and warm, not just a summer tent.
It's for two people. There's one big superking bed inside the yurt itself. The bathroom is private and attached to it, so you've got your own hot shower. The kitchen is outside on the deck. It's covered and has everything you need, so you can cook outside if the weather's good.
You've got the deck and the bit of garden around the yurt to yourself. There's a firepit and chairs. The view looks out over our fields and down to one of the lakes. The yurt has a wood burner and a window in the roof so you can see the stars from bed.
The local pub is a five minute walk down the lane. They do food. We sometimes do wood-fired pizza evenings here on site too, if you fancy it. That's extra.
You're welcome to walk around the land here. There are two lakes you can swim or paddle in. There's an orchard and some footpaths through the meadows.
For days out, the coast is about half an hour's drive. Charmouth Beach is good for fossils. Bridport and Dorchester are the main market towns nearby. There are plenty of farm shops around. For walking, the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around us. Dorset Council beaches page has good local information.
In terms of stuff here: parking is right by the yurt, bedding and towels are included, and the wood for the burner is provided. You can bring up to two dogs. The rating is 4 Star.
We've got a few other places on the same land, so larger groups can book together.
