Applewood Cottage is in Walditch. It's a small village. The cottage is a Grade II listed building, so it's old and has some low beams. The stairs are typical for an old place, quite narrow and steep.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious. You get the whole place, including the enclosed garden. There are views over the fields next door.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove for colder evenings. We provide the wood. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included. There's also a cot and a highchair if you need them.
There isn't a shop or pub in the village itself. The nearest ones are in Bridport, which is about a mile and a half away. Bridport is a proper market town with pubs, shops, and a cinema.
For the coast, West Bay is two and a half miles. That's where the cliffs are and the start of the Jurassic Coast. The coastal path there is excellent for walks. Lyme Regis is about a 25 minute drive west. You can walk out on the Cobb there. Weymouth is about 40 minutes east.
If you're planning days out, these sites are useful: National Trust Dorset and the official Jurassic Coast site.
We don't allow pets, I'm afraid. There's parking for one car on the gravel driveway.
