This is the Sparrow at Manor Court Cottages. The cottages are a bit outside the main part of Shipton Gorge, maybe a ten minute walk from the pub. You're up a quiet lane.
The Sparrow sleeps five, in two bedrooms but with two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's a cottage on one floor, steps up to the front door. No stairs inside.
The cottage looks out over a shared garden area, but you've got a private patio space with your own table and chairs. There's a games room in the main building with a pool table. That's shared with the other guests.
The village pub, The Sea Shanty, is a stroll down the lane, about 110 yards. They do Palmers ales and food. The village playing fields are next to it.
For the coast, Burton Bradstock beach is about a mile and a half away. It's a shingle beach with a café. You can walk along the cliffs from there. West Bay is two miles, that's the harbour with the big cliffs. Bridport is two miles the other way, good for the market on a Wednesday and Saturday.
You're close to a lot. Abbotsbury, with the swannery and gardens, is a ten minute drive. The Chesil Beach and the Fleet area is all around there. Lyme Regis for fossil hunting is about twenty five minutes. Dorchester, Weymouth, and the Tank Museum are all within half an hour.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, a TV, and WiFi. The parking is right outside. Pets are welcome, up to two.
