The Old Tithe Barn is in Litton Cheney, about a 10 minute drive inland from the coast. It's a big, old stone barn on our working farm. The main part is 13th century, but we've added a newer wing so it can sleep a lot of people comfortably.
It sleeps nineteen across nine bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is the main reason we did the renovation. It means no queues in the morning. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and well-equipped, but it's a barn, so expect some uneven floors and thick walls.
The main room is the original barn. It's huge, with a high vaulted ceiling and old beams. You can fit everyone in there quite easily. The kitchen is big enough for a few people to cook together. There's a games room with a pool table, and a self-service bar area we set up in what was the old dairy. You just settle up at the end.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden. There's also a two-acre coarse fishing lake on the farm if you've brought gear. The village pub is about five minutes' walk down the lane. They do food.
You're well placed for the coast. Chesil Beach and West Bay are about ten to fifteen minutes by car. The Jurassic Coast sites like Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Durdle Door are all within a half hour drive. For a day out, Weymouth or Dorchester have the usual seaside and town things. The National Trust has several properties nearby like Hardy's Cottage.
Facilities: there's parking for several cars on the gravel by the barn. It's all on one level except for two small steps inside. There's WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide cots and highchairs. We allow up to three dogs.
