Churchview House
Churchview House is in Winterbourne Abbas, on the main road through the village. It's a big old place, about three hundred years old. It used to be a guest house. It sleeps seventeen people, which is why it has nine bedrooms. They nearly all have their own bathroom, which is handy with a group that size.
The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's an old building so mind your head in a couple of doorways. The stairs are steep. Just something to be aware of.
There's a pub a few minutes' walk away. The shop is a drive, about two and a half miles to Dorchester.
Location wise, you're right in the middle of things for getting out. Dorchester is ten minutes by car. Weymouth and the beach are about twenty minutes. The coast is close. Chesil Beach is five miles. The whole Jurassic Coast is on your doorstep for walking. National Trust has good walk ideas.
If you're looking for a day out, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, or Lulworth Cove are all within half an hour. For a proper seaside town, Weymouth has a big sandy beach and the Sea Life centre.
Facilities: it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The garden is enclosed. Parking is on site. You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included, and we've got a cot and highchair if needed.
