Blacksmith's Cottage is one of a pair in Upwey, which is just outside Weymouth proper. The views from the front are over fields. It's a new build, done in 2018, but it's on the plot where my grandad had his workshop. He was a proper handyman, so the name felt right.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped. The cottage is timber framed. You can book it with the one next door if you're a bigger group.
There's a pub about 500 yards away that does food. The shop is three miles, so you'll likely drive. Weymouth beach and harbour are about four miles. It's that big, sandy beach they're known for.
You're right on the edge of the Jurassic Coast. Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are a short drive. For a longer beach, Chesil is close. Dorchester is nearby if you want a bigger town or to see the Roman stuff.
If you've got kids, Monkey World and the Tank Museum at Bovington are within half an hour. The swannery and gardens at Abbotsbury are too. A golf course is two miles away.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
