Carpenters Cottage
Carpenters Cottage is in Upwey, which is on the edge of Weymouth. It's one of a pair, next to Blacksmith’s Cottage. They were built in 2018 on the land where my grandfather had his workshop. He was a carpenter. The view from the front is over fields.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well equipped. Everything is included: bedding, towels, WiFi. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Parking is right there.
You can bring one dog. We provide a stairgate and a cot if you need them.
There's a pub about 500 yards away that does food. The nearest shop is a few miles away in Weymouth, so you'll likely drive for groceries.
Weymouth itself is about four miles. It's got the big sandy beach and the harbour. The coast path is right there too.
You're well placed for the Jurassic Coast. Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are about a twenty minute drive. Portland, where they did the Olympic sailing, is about fifteen minutes the other way. Dorchester is a short drive inland.
If you're planning trips, the National Trust for Dorset website is useful, and so is the official site for the Jurassic Coast. The local bus route goes from the village if you don't want to drive.
