Fossils End

Fossils End is an old barn we converted. It's attached to our house, but you've got your own front door. All one floor, so no stairs to worry about.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One bathroom with a shower. We've put in a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.

The track to get here is unmade. It's a farm track, so it's a bit bumpy and you have to drive carefully.

You get the garden out front. It's big and open. There are sun loungers and chairs in the shed.

We called it Fossils End because of the fossils. There's a sea anemone one in the wall from Nottington and some petrified wood from Charminster.

You're right out in the fields here. Weymouth is about ten minutes away by car. They've got a big sandy beach and a harbour. The beach at Weymouth is probably the closest for a proper swim.

You're on the edge of the Jurassic Coast. Chesil Beach is about three miles away. If you want to go further along the coast, places like West Bay or Lulworth Cove are about half an hour's drive.

Dorchester is a fifteen minute drive. It's got the Roman stuff and Brewery Square. If you like walking, there are plenty of routes along the coast path.

Abbotsbury is a nice trip. They have the swannery and the sub-tropical gardens.

If you've got children, Monkey World and the Tank Museum at Bovington are within half an hour. Corfe Castle is about the same. It's managed by the National Trust.

There's a local pub and a shop about three quarters of a mile away. We're happy for you to bring up to two dogs. The garden isn't completely sealed off from the fields, so you'd need to keep an eye on them.
