Violet Bay is a fisherman's cottage about five minutes from Weymouth beach. It's on a residential street, not right on the harbour. You get the whole place to yourselves.
It sleeps five across two bedrooms. One king, one twin. The twin beds can be zipped together to make a double if you prefer. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The stairs are typical for this sort of cottage. They're alright, but watch your head on the way up to the bedrooms.
You've got a small enclosed garden out the back with a table. It's a sun trap in the afternoon. The utility room and an outside loo are out there too, which is handy with sandy feet.
Weymouth beach is the main thing. It's a big, sandy beach, perfect for families. The harbour is a short walk away. It's good for a wander, with boats and places to eat.
For a day out, the Jurassic Coast is right there. Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are about a half hour drive. You'll need to pay for parking at both. Portland is ten minutes away. You can see the sailing academy, Chesil Beach, and the lighthouse at Portland Bill.
Dorchester is twenty minutes inland if you need a bigger supermarket or want to see the county town.
In terms of what's here: there's WiFi, a washing machine and tumble dryer, a dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
