Mallams is in Fortuneswell, on the Isle of Portland. The cottage is on three floors. There’s a small outside area and space to park a small car.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean without being luxurious.
The stairs are worth a mention. Some are narrow and steep, and on the middle floor they spiral a bit. Just take your time.
You're about a 15 minute walk from Chesil Beach. Portland Bill lighthouse is a good walk from the cottage, or a short drive. The sailing academy at Osprey Quay is nearby if that's your thing.
Weymouth is over the bridge, maybe ten minutes in the car. It's a classic seaside town with a big sandy beach, shops and places to eat. For a history day, Portland Castle or the Nothe Fort in Weymouth are interesting.
You're right on the edge of the Jurassic Coast. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are about half an hour's drive. Corfe Castle is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. Dorchester has museums and is about 20 minutes away.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a local pub within walking distance. No pets, I'm afraid.
