Freshwater Bay View Southwell

Freshwater Bay View is a bungalow just outside Southwell, on the Isle of Portland in Dorset. It's semi-detached, with your own enclosed garden. The main thing is the view out over Freshwater Bay. You can sit in the garden with a cup of tea and just watch the sea.

It's all on one floor, so there are no stairs to worry about. It sleeps two people, one bedroom and one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and the bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.

You're about a mile from the beach at Freshwater Bay itself. For a shop you'll need to drive into Easton, which is a mile or so away. There's a pub and a restaurant within a few minutes' walk. They serve food.

Portland Bill lighthouse is about half a mile down the road. It's a good walk. The whole coastline around here is fantastic for walking. You can see the Isle of Portland Museum or Henry VIII's castle, which is called Portland Castle. The National Sailing Academy is nearby if that's of interest.

Weymouth is about ten minutes by car. That's a proper Georgian seaside town with a sandy beach. For a day out, you can head west to places like Abbotsbury or Lyme Regis. To the east, it's about half an hour to the Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door area. The coast path runs right past.
