Hideaway House is in Easton on Portland. It's number 38, on a regular residential street on the island.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms: one with a double bed, two with two singles each, and a smaller one with a single. There's one bathroom downstairs with a shower cubicle. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and has everything you need.
The house is Victorian so the ceilings are high and the rooms feel spacious. It's been done up but you still get the feel of the old place. There's a decent sized kitchen with an oven, fridge, freezer and washing machine. The back garden is decked and gets the sun in the afternoon.
You're about a ten minute walk from the co-op for basics. There's a couple of pubs close by, The Clifton and The Eight Kings, both do food. Church Ope Cove is a short walk too, down some steps. It's a small, sheltered beach.
For a proper beach day, you'll want to drive. Weymouth beach is about ten minutes by car. The sailing academy is a few minutes drive if that's your thing.
You're right on the coast path here. A good walk is out to Portland Bill to see the lighthouse. The views from the Olympic Rings sculpture, up near the Sailing Academy, are worth it. You can see right across Weymouth Bay and Chesil Beach.
Dorchester is about twenty minutes inland. Poole Harbour is roughly forty-five minutes if you fancy a trip out on a boat or to see Brownsea Island.
For more information on the area, the official sites are good: Jurassic Coast and Visit Dorset.
In terms of what's here: all the utilities are included, there's wifi, bedding and towels, parking for one car on the driveway, and the back garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.
