Elizabethan House

Elizabethan House is in Fortuneswell, on Portland. It's a 17th century listed building, so it's full of old features. Stone walls, wooden beams, that sort of thing. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.

It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. We take up to two dogs.

The best thing is the location. You're about 500 yards from Chesil Beach. It's a proper shingle bank, very dramatic. The National Sailing Academy is a short walk away. Portland Harbour is good for messing about in boats.

There are pubs and restaurants you can walk to in the village. For more choice, Weymouth is about a 15 minute drive. That's the classic seaside town with a big sandy beach, Punch and Judy, donkeys, the lot. They've also got the Sea Life Centre there.

The property has two little courtyard gardens, front and back. They're enclosed. Inside, there's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings, plus WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher.

Because it's old, you should know the stairs are a bit steep and uneven in places. The floors are original too, so they slope. That's just how it is.
