Woodpecker
Woodpecker is one of a few cottages here at Manor Court in Shipton Gorge. It's a quiet spot.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and it’s got two bathrooms, which is handy. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and well looked after. The garden is enclosed so it's fine for dogs, and you can bring two of them.
You're right next to the village playing fields, and the pub is about a hundred yards away. It's a Palmers pub, so the ale is good. They do food too.
The coast is about a mile and a half from here. The beach at Burton Bradstock is good, and West Bay is two miles. That's the harbour you'll know from Broadchurch. Bridport is two miles the other way for shops and a decent market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
If you want to plan some trips, the coast path is right there. Abbotsbury has the swannery and subtropic gardens. For a longer drive, the Tank Museum at Bovington or Monkey World are within half an hour. Lyme Regis for fossils is about the same.
As for the cottage itself, it's got what you'd expect: parking, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. There's also a shared games room on the estate.
