Carters Cottage is in Puncknowle. It's a village, quiet, in a valley. It's a terrace cottage but it stands on its own end of a row. You've got a little courtyard garden out the back that's just for you.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs, two are on the ground floor. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. It has a 4 Star rating, so it's got everything you need and it's kept in good order. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep.
There's a pub in the village, about a five minute walk. They do food. The coast is about a mile and a half away. It's the Jurassic Coast there, so the walking is very good. Burton Bradstock is three miles along. It's got a nice beach, mostly pebbles and sand when the tide's out.
Abbotsbury is about ten minutes by car. They've got the swannery and the sub-tropical gardens there. Weymouth is probably twenty five minutes if you want a proper town beach and things like the Sea Life Centre.
For a day out, Monkey World and the Tank Museum are near Wool, maybe half an hour's drive. Bridport is about fifteen minutes west, it's got a market. West Bay is just past it, that's where the harbour and cliffs are. Lyme Regis is a bit further, maybe forty minutes. Good for fossils.
In the cottage there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
If you're planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: National Trust Dorset and the official Jurassic Coast site.
