Gore Cottage

Gore Cottage is in West Milton. It's a thatched cottage, detached. You're right in the village but it feels quiet. The garden is enclosed, mostly lawn with some shrubs.

It sleeps five, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not high-end. It's an old building, so the ceilings are low in places. The stairs are also quite steep and narrow, which is normal for these cottages.

The sitting room has a wood burning stove. We leave some logs for you to get started. The kitchen has what you need: an electric oven, fridge, that sort of thing. There's a washing machine in a utility room. The wifi works, but it's not super fast because of the location.

You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.

West Milton itself is tiny. There's a good pub, the Fox Inn, a few minutes walk away. For a shop, you'll need to drive to Bridport, which is about three miles. It's a proper market town with a good high street.

The coast at West Bay is about four miles. It's where they filmed Broadchurch. The harbour is nice for fish and chips. The wider Jurassic Coast is on your doorstep for walking. Lyme Regis is about 20 minutes drive one way, and Weymouth about 40 minutes the other.

If you want to go inland, Beaminster is a short drive. For a longer day out, Dorchester or the Tank Museum at Bovington are within half an hour.
