Lower Barrowfield Farm is a thatched farmhouse near Beaminster. It sleeps ten people, in five bedrooms, with four bathrooms. It's got a five star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The main thing is the space. There are two big living rooms and a large kitchen. It's a good setup if you've got a few generations staying together. The garden is enclosed and there's a hot tub on the patio.
Being a thatched place, the ceilings are low in some rooms. You'll need to mind your head. The stairs are also typical for an old farmhouse, so they're a bit uneven and steep in parts.
You can walk into Beaminster in about twenty minutes. There are a couple of pubs, a few shops, and a pharmacy. The town was used in the recent Far From The Madding Crowd film. Mapperton House is a short drive away and its gardens are worth seeing.
For walking, you're well placed for some of the higher hills in Dorset. The coast at West Bay is about a fifteen minute drive. It's shingle, with those big cliffs. The sandy beach at Weymouth is further, about forty-five minutes by car.
Dorchester is roughly half an hour away if you want a bigger town or the County Museum.
What's here: all the bedding and towels are provided. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and a highchair. The WiFi works. There's parking right by the house. The garden is fully enclosed. No pets allowed.
