Bron Madog is a detached house in Minffordd, near Penrhyndeudraeth. It sleeps eight, in three rooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's more modern inside than the old stone exterior might suggest.
There's one super kingsize bedroom with an ensuite shower room, another super kingsize, and a third room with twin beds and bunks. Both the super kings can be split into twins if you ask beforehand. There's a family bathroom too.
Downstairs, there's an open plan kitchen and dining area with large doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. The view from there is the main thing. You get the hills and the village laid out below. There are two living rooms, which is useful with a group. One has a wood burner.
Outside, there's a garden with seating. Parking is on the drive for at least two cars. There's an electric vehicle charging point.
The house has the normal things: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
Minffordd is quiet. There's a local pub within walking distance. You're a few minutes' drive from the coast at Borth-y-Gest, which has a sandy beach and is sheltered. Portmeirion is just down the road, maybe a five minute drive. That's the Italianate village, if you don't know it.
For the trains, the Ffestiniog Railway station is practically on the doorstep. The Welsh Highland Railway runs through here too. You can get a steam train up into the hills or down to Porthmadog.
Harlech Castle is about 15 minutes west. Snowdonia National Park starts almost at the end of the road. The Llyn Peninsula is within half an hour if you want different beaches and coastal walks. For wider planning, Visit Wales is a good resource.
