Rhiw Goch

Rhiw Goch is a farmhouse just outside Penrhyndeudraeth. It's detached, so you won't have anyone next door. The main thing is the view. You look out over fields and the estuary. It's very quiet.

It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom is on the ground floor, but you have to go down a step to get into it. The stairs to the first floor are normal. There's a wood burner in the living room. The dining room has big windows so you can look at the view while you eat.

The place runs on solar panels and battery storage. There's also an electric car charger if you need it. We're not on the gas grid.

Outside, there's a garden and a hot tub. The hot tub takes a while to heat up, so it might not be ready until the day after you arrive. At the bottom of the garden, the Welsh Highland Steam Railway goes past. You can hear it sometimes, but it's not loud. It's quite nice actually.

You can bring two dogs. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.

Location wise, you're on the edge of Snowdonia. Portmeirion is about five minutes away by car. It's famous, and worth a visit if you've never been. Snowdonia National Park is right there for walking. You can drive to the foot of Snowdon in under half an hour.

The beaches at Black Rock Sands and Harlech are about fifteen minutes drive. Porthmadog is close for shops. The steam train you see from the garden stops at places like Caernarfon too, if you fancy a trip.
