1 The Old Corn Mill is here in Thoralby, on the edge of the village. It’s up a bit of a slope, so you get the views. You can see right across Bishopdale and over to Morpeth Scar from the window seats.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One king size bed and the other’s two singles. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and in good order. It’s not huge, but it’s fine for the number of people.
There’s a local pub in the village you can walk to. For shops, you’ll need to drive to West Burton or Aysgarth. Hawes and Leyburn are both about a 15 minute drive. Hawes has the Wensleydale Creamery and proper cheese shops. Leyburn’s a market town.
For walks, you’re right in it. You can follow Bishopdale Beck from the door. Aysgarth Falls is very close, and Semerwater is a short drive away. It’s good for birdwatching or just a quiet potter.
Facilities: there’s parking for one car on the drive, a shower, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets sorry.
If you’re planning walks, the Yorkshire Dales National Park site has maps and routes. For general visits, English Heritage looks after a few local places like Bolton Castle.
