The grand living area of Slatey Barn is truly impressive with stunning double height beamed ceilings and triple aspect windows overlooking the surrounding countryside. A large dining table perfect for celebration meals is at its centre and the comfortable lounge area has uninterrupted views of the South Downs. There is underfloor heating throughout the barn which provides a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere. The comprehensively equipped kitchen has a separate larder and a useful additional dining area around the central island. Slatey Barn does not have any internet access as it it so rural. It does however have good 4G mobile reception. Outside Slatey Barn there are two terrace areas and a barbecue is available in the summer months so that you can enjoy the full long days of sunshine. Sit and enjoy watch the activities of the surrounding country life or just soak in the wonderful scenery. There is a covered car area for up to three cars and a large gravelled driveway if more space is required.
Rural Slatey Barn is a short distance from the lovely village of Lavant with a lovely Norman church two welcoming country inns and some lovely walks where you can enjoy fantastic views of the coastal plain from Littlehampton across to Southampton and even further to the Isle of Wight. The Monarchs Way, a long distance footpath and the Centurion Way which gives year-round access to West Dean for both walkers and cyclists are both nearby. Slatey Barn is perfectly positioned to enjoy many attractions in the area including the wonderful events held at the Goodwood Estate including Glorious Goodwood which is at the stunning racecourse on top of the Downs. Of course Goodwood House is also the venue to the now famous Festival of Speed and the motor circuit hosts the Revival Meeting every September. The cathedral city of Chichester is only 3½ miles away is one of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK. The city’s broad streets are packed with listed buildings headed by the towering presence of the cathedral. The city centre is neatly enclosed within the ancient city walls which helps to make Chichester compact and pleasant to explore on foot. It is a cosmopolitan vibrant and friendly city proudly combining two thousand years of heritage with a lively lifestyle. Chichester is also home to the famous Festival Theatre renowned for its quality of productions as well as featuring many world premieres.
West Dean Gardens and the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum at Singleton are within a 5 minute drive. Uppark House a magnificent Georgian house owned by the National Trust sits high on the South Downs above picturesque South Harting village and is within 15 minutes, while plentiful walking opportunities are on the doorstep. South west of Chichester is Chichester Harbour an area of outstanding natural beauty with a plethora of wildlife that shares this delightful area with the sailing activity that abounds. The harbour is made up of a series of tidal creeks and Bosham is probably the best known of the quayside villages and offers much of interest. The coast road round to the quay floods twice daily giving Bosham a constantly changing outlook between low and high water.
