42 Gurnard Pines is a great destination for family holidays and short breaks. The property comfortably sleeps five in its two bedrooms but can accommodate up to six with a sofa bed in the living room. The Gurnard Pines site enjoys a quiet countryside location, complete with woodland and plenty of quiet spots to sit and relax. Be sure to look out for the native red squirrels running through the woods.
This semi-detached bungalow is nestled within a park village complex, set within 50-acres of private woodland. The site is located only a short walk from the seafront, where you can enjoy a barbecue by the beach whilst taking in one of the breath-taking sunsets and great views of the Solent. Have a paddle in the sea, sample the locally caught seafood or enjoy a slice of cake and a coffee from one of the cafés. The area is popular for sailing as well as other water sports. There are local pubs and restaurants overlooking the esplanade where you can watch the yachting regattas or listen to some of the live music events. Alternatively, you can continue along the coastal path around to the neighbouring harbour town of Cowes, dubbed the UK’s ‘yachting capital’.
Major attractions on the Isle of Wight are in plentiful supply with something to suit everyone. For history and culture, you could visit Queen Victoria’s former residence at Osborne House or take a tour of Carisbrooke Castle. The Needles rocks and lighthouse are possibly the most recognised landmark and have plenty to keep your family occupied. Alternatively, keep the children entertained at one of the fun parks including Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill, both easily reached by car or public transport. Beach ¾ mile. Shop and restaurant 200 yards, pub ½ mile.
