Situated right in the city centre, Richmond House is spread over two floors and is perfect for a weekend or week-long self-catering break to explore West Sussex with friends or family. It lies just a few minutes’ stroll from the centre of the ancient city, which is small yet cosmopolitan; it boasts a magnificent cathedral and fantastically preserved Roman walls. In addition to a wide variety of independent and high street shops, pubs and restaurants, many of the streets are edged with listed buildings. There are several art galleries and museums in Chichester, including the fine Pallant House Gallery, as well as the renowned Festival Theatre only a mile away. Fishbourne Roman Palace is a short drive and combined with a walk around the city walls it brings this fascinating period of British history to life.
In the area, you will find Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a beautiful sandy beach at West Wittering, and the South Downs National Park, ideal for walking, exploring, and days out. When the weather is clear, a visit to Trundle Hill car park will reward you with panoramic views of Chichester, the Sussex coast, as well as the Isle of Wight.
The picturesque sailing village of Bosham, Arundel with its historic castle, and antique shops. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Pagham Nature Reserve, the nautical city of Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays with designer outlets and waterside dining are also within easy reach. Day trips to the Isle of Wight and HMS Victory and the Mary Rose can also be enjoyed.
