Riverside House
Riverside House is perfectly placed right on the banks of the river Arun with views across the water to the castle and the cathedral both rising majestically above the town. Whether you are looking for a great house for an extended family gathering or somewhere special for a group of friends to get together you are unlikely to find anywhere better. Each of the five bedrooms has an en-suite bath or shower room and three of them have both a bath and a separate shower. The sublime principal bedroom suite has a super kingsize bed, sitting area and indulgent bathroom with double end freestanding bath, walk-in shower and double sinks. Both the bedroom and bathroom offer outstanding views of the castle and the cathedral and also shares a large balcony with the twin bedroom. The third bedroom has a kingsize cabin bed. The other two bedrooms are accessed via a different staircase and one has a kingsize bed whilst the other has a twin beds. Downstairs there is a wonderful kitchen and open plan dining room with sitting-area the perfect place to gather before during and after meals. It opens onto the garden so you can spill outside and enjoy al fresco dining and entertainment if you feel inclined. For the children there is a play room next to the kitchen which is packed with lots of things of fun and interest so they should be entertained. For the adults there is a separate more formal living room with gas fireplace, the perfect place for relaxing games and listening to music or watching something on the large satellite TV. On those warm summer evenings there is nothing better than relaxing in the riverbank garden with a cold drink watching the swans paddling gracefully past. At Riverside House the experience will be enhanced with the incomparable views across the river to the castle. In the day time the garden will also be a great place to relax with shady or sunny places to sit according to your whim. At the front of the house there is ample parking on the driveway inside the electric gates for several cars which is a great benefit in Arundel where off road parking is hard to come by.
Arundel is a historic market town dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral both of which you can see from Riverside House. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as a wide range of restaurants and tearooms. It’s a great place to wander and just enjoy its hospitality. Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for nearly 200 years. It is one of the great treasure houses of England and is home to priceless works of art in stunning rooms. The Keep at Arundel Castle dates from the 11th Century and sits atop a mound . You can climb the 131 steps to take in the views over Arundel and The South Downs.
