Colwell Bay is a sand and shingle beach on the western shore of the Isle of Wight. .
From the beach and promenade there are excellent panoramic views of the mainland, including views of Hurst Castle on the Hampshire/Dorset border. This is a popular family beach, with a traditional seaside café just before you reach the beach, and beach hut shops on each side of the slipway selling everything from ice-creams and snacks to inflatable toys and wet suits. If you are looking to make a day of it you can hire deck chairs and beach huts from the beach shop. On the road down to the shore there is a bar, plus if you walk along the sea wall to the left you will find a bistro style restaurant.
