The Old Post House Annex

The Old Post House Annex is in Lower Weare, a small village just outside Axbridge. It's attached to our house, which used to be the village post office. You have your own front door and the garden is just for you. It's south-facing so it gets the sun.

It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about the quality of the fittings and the insulation. The bedroom is quiet and looks over the garden.

The space inside is all open-plan downstairs. Kitchen at one end, sitting area at the other. The walls are stone, the ceiling has beams. The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower cubicle. There's a washing machine in the kitchen cupboard.

You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed, but it's not huge, so a small to medium dog is best. There's parking right outside.

The village pub is a three-minute walk. They do food. Axbridge is about a mile away. It's a proper old market town with a square. There's a small supermarket there, and a couple of other pubs.

You're well placed for getting out. The Mendip Hills are on your doorstep for walking. Cheddar Gorge is ten minutes by car. Glastonbury Tor is about twenty minutes. Wells, with the cathedral, is twenty-five minutes. The coast at Weston-super-Mare is about half an hour.
