Mill Batch Cottage is in Mark, on the Somerset Levels. It's detached. The garden is enclosed.
It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The refurbishment was done a few years ago, so it's comfortable. There are some low beams and the stairs are typical for a cottage of this age.
The building is old. It was a barn in the 1780s, then turned into a cottage in 1819. You can see 'WC 1819' carved outside and 'WC' above the old fireplace, which people find funny. There's a wood burner in that fireplace now.
There's a small orchard next to the cottage with cider apple trees. Sheep graze in the field sometimes. The garden backs onto ours, so it feels more open than it is. It's good for wildlife.
The village has a shop and two pubs, both do food. They're about five minutes walk. Glastonbury Tor is visible from here on a clear day.
For days out, the Somerset Levels are all around for walking and cycling. The Avalon Marshes are close for birdwatching. Cheddar Gorge and Wells are within half an hour's drive. The coast at Burnham-on-Sea is about twenty minutes by car.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
