The Stables is on our land, just down from the main house. It's been converted from the old stable block. It's all on one level, which is good for prams, wheelchairs, or if you just don't want stairs.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. They all have their own bathroom, which saves arguments. The main bedroom has a bath in the room itself. Each room has its own door to a little patio area outside, so you can get some quiet.
The kitchen and living area is one big room. It's got underfloor heating. The kitchen worktops are granite. There's a woodburner for colder nights.
You're on the edge of Cheddar village. It's quiet here. The nearest pub is a mile up the road. A decent shop is about a mile and a half.
Cheddar Gorge is about ten minutes away by car. You can walk up it or go and see the caves. The Mendip Hills are right there for longer walks. The Somerset Levels are good for flat, easy cycles or birdwatching.
Wells is twenty minutes drive. You should see the cathedral. Glastonbury Tor is about twenty five minutes. Weston-super-Mare is half an hour if you fancy the seaside. Bristol and Bath are both under an hour.
Facilities wise: we've left a cot and a highchair. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi is on. The parking is right outside. We can take one well-behaved dog.
