This is Orchard View. It's one of four studio apartments in a converted barn here in Cheddar. We live in the main house next door.
The studio is for two people. One room with a double bed, a small kitchen area, a shower room and a TV. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's compact. It suits a couple looking for a base.
Orchard View is on the ground floor. Its door opens directly into a walled garden, which is shared with the other guests and our family. There's a seating area out there. We have a small orchard beyond it. You can bring one dog. We have three friendly dogs ourselves, so the shared garden isn't ideal for dogs that don't get on with others.
You're on the edge of Cheddar. It's about a ten minute walk into the town centre and the start of the Gorge. The path up into the Mendip Hills is literally two minutes away. You can easily leave the car. The Strawberry Line cycle path is also very close.
The local reservoir is five minutes by car. There's a two-mile circular walk around it. For a day out, Glastonbury Tor is about twenty minutes' drive. The coast at Weston-super-Mare is roughly half an hour. If you want information on walking, the Mendip Hills National Landscape site is useful. The National Trust page for Cheddar Gorge has visiting details.
Facilities: there's parking on the driveway, bicycle storage, WiFi, and bedding is included. There's a BBQ in the shared garden.
