Challey's Cottage

This is Challey's Cottage. It's one of a few cottages on our farm here in Winscombe. It's a quiet spot, down in a valley in the Mendips.

The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The main thing is it's peaceful. You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep in the fields. There's wildlife about, foxes and birds. It's an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

You've got your own patio and garden area. There's parking right outside. Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. We've left some logs. It has a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi is there, but it's a farm, so it's functional. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.

The stairs are a typical cottage spiral, so just be mindful. There's a stairgate at the top.

There's a shared games room in one of the other barns with a pool table and table tennis.

The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in the village. They're decent.

For things to do, Cheddar Gorge is about ten minutes by car. It's impressive. The coastal town of Weston-super-Mare is about seven miles for the beach. Wells is a half hour drive, the cathedral is worth seeing. Bath is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes. Bristol Airport is 15 minutes away, so you might hear the odd plane, but it's not constant.

We don't allow pets, sorry.
