Tor View

This is Tor View. It's one of four studio apartments here, part of the old barn next to our house. The house itself is from 1708.

It's a first-floor studio, so you're up a flight of stairs. It sleeps two. There's one room with a double bed, a small kitchenette, a sofa, a TV, and the shower room. It's compact, but it's been done up recently. The main thing is the view. You look out over the fields towards Cheddar Reservoir and you can see Glastonbury Tor in the distance.

You get your own parking space on the gated driveway. There's a bike store if you need it and an electric car charger. There's a shared walkway down to the walled garden, which you're welcome to use. We've got a dog, and other guests sometimes bring theirs, so it's a shared space.

Location is why you'd book it. You can walk to Cheddar Gorge in about fifteen minutes. The town centre, with the pubs and shops, is even closer. If you want to go walking on the Mendip Hills, you can be on the path in two or three minutes. The Strawberry Line cycle track is just down the lane too.

Facilities are what you'd expect: wifi, TV, bedding and towels are included. The kitchenette has a proper two-ring hob and a small oven. There's a patio area with a BBQ.

If you want to go further out, Glastonbury is a short drive. The coast at Weston-super-Mare or Burnham-on-Sea is about half an hour. For planning walks, the National Trust Somerset site is useful, and so is the Mendip Hills website.
