This is Maxmills Cottage, one of four places here. It's on our farm, down a lane in the Mendip Hills. The cottage is attached to the side of our house, but you've got your own door. It's very quiet.
It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not a show home. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. The bathroom has a shower.
Downstairs, there's a living room with a wood burner. We leave you some logs to get started. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can get WiFi, but it's the farm kind so don't expect to stream films on five devices at once.
Outside, there's a private patio with a table and chairs. You can sit out there and just listen to nothing. It's an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty around here.
The farm is working, so you'll see sheep in the fields and hear the usual farm noises. There's a shared games room in one of the old barns with a pool table. You can store bikes there too.
For a shop or a pub, you need to drive to Winscombe, which is about two miles. It's got the basics.
Location wise, you're set. Cheddar Gorge is about ten minutes by car. The National Trust looks after a lot of it. Bristol Airport is fifteen minutes away, so you do hear planes sometimes, but it's not constant.
Wells is twenty minutes in one direction, Bath is about forty in the other. The beach at Weston-super-Mare is fifteen minutes if you want the promenade and sand. Blagdon Lake is close by for fishing or walking.
We provide all the bedding. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside the cottage. No pets, I'm afraid.
